Tilburg – 1982 Lea and Bram Brouwer lived on the edge of the city. Together they had two daughters, Thirza (9) and Lydia (12). Thirza and Lydia were as close as two peas in a pod. Together they rebelled against the religious upbringing of their parents. Lea and Bram led a withdrawn existence with their daughters. They had no desire to interact with the rest of the neighborhood. The same was true for both daughters. They mostly kept to themselves and had no friends at school. They were often bullied, causing them to increasingly keep to themselves over time. On December 2, 1982, they were no longer seen at school. After both daughters had been absent from school for a week, the school board decided to visit their family home. It turns out that no one was home. Another two full weeks passed before the police were informed by the school board on December 16, 1982. 17… A major search was launched. The search lasted three long grueling months and was eventually called off without success. More than half a year later, two boys stumbled upon a forest cabin deep in the forests of Tilburg by accident. The cabin was built from large tree trunks and completely blended in with the background. The entire family was found dead in the cabin. A sign with the number 17 was hanging next to the door. All four family members lay motionless around a ouija board in the cabin. The police immediately launched an investigation into the death of the entire family. However, to this day it has never been revealed how and why the family died. After a year and a half, the investigation was terminated and the cabin was reopened. The bizarre death of the Brouwer family remains a macabre unsolved case. Do not enter Cabin 17…!
