The story – Pierre de Coubertin – De Baron Pierre de Coubertin, better known as Pierre 'Baron' de Coubertin (Paris, January 1, 1863 – Geneva, September 2, 1937) was a French historian and educator and is regarded as the founder of the modern Olympic Play. A phrase often associated with Pierre de Coubertin is “Participating is more important than winning”. Participants take a look at Pierre de Coubertin's secret office and gym, from where he worked out all the ideas and forged plans for the Olympic Games to be organised. However, the Olympic story takes a completely different turn: during the 1924 Olympics in Paris, an Olympic sports star named Helen Johnson inexplicably disappeared. It is suspected that this American athlete had collected incriminating material against the Olympic Games committee and wanted to go inside the Baron's office to verify this information. In the early days of the Olympic Games, it was not self-evident that women took part in this prestigious tournament. In fact, the Baron and the committee saw their participation as 'impractical, uninteresting, unaesthetic and incorrect'. Helen Johnson was never found.
