Two men are sitting in a bar, talking. They devise a plan to make quick money. The Heineken kidnapping seems like a 'good' example, but instead of kidnapping people, they plan to perpetrate an art theft, possibly stealing the most famous paintings in the Netherlands. The paintings are kept in the well-secured Kröller-Müller museum. They decide to stake out the place and figure out the routines of the guards. They meticulously work out how the alarm system operates and look for weak points in the security. During meetings at the Kröller-Müller museum, it was clear that one window wasn't adequately secured. This had been discussed multiple times with the guards, and the thieves had not missed this. On Monday evening, December 12, 1988 at a quarter to nine, the moment arrives. The thieves strike and steal three world-famous paintings by Vincent van Gogh. The Loom with Weaver, The Potato Eaters and the Withered Sunflowers. At the time of the theft, two guards are present. The alarm is immediately noticed. The second guard is informed via walkie-talkie, as he is in the middle of his round. After 1.5 minutes, he too calls the police, who arrive at the location 7 minutes later. The thieves have by then escaped with the three paintings, and the only lead is that the car used in the theft might have had French license plates. Can you find the paintings through tasks, puzzles, and secret hatches?
