The Freak Show

You carefully grope in the dark for clues. It is clear that you are locked up, but where and by whom? Next to you you can hear something hissing, is that a snake? Your hands feel something rusty, long thin metal. Bars? Is that a lion you hear growling? Your foot gets stuck behind a piece of chain. There appears to be a hook. You try to fish through the bars by feel, but for what? Suddenly, a little girl's voice sounds. "Don't be afraid," she says. "I'll help you escape, but we have to be quick because the show only lasts an hour and then ... they come back ... the freaks."
