About the escape room
Nuns are disappearing from the monastery. Nobody knows where they are going, or what is happening to them... Meanwhile, the popularity and reputation of the recently opened restaurant Le Monastère in the monastery continues to grow. Renowned chef Gaston Boucher, awarded a Michelin star for his exceptional soup, remains silent about this success and sternly guards his secrets. In the escape room Soup du Jour, you have reserved a table for dinner in our prestigious restaurant, but you will soon find out that not everything in the kitchen is as it seems, and that the chef is not as friendly as he seems... Your mission: access the chef’s private kitchen and decipher the clues that Gaston has hidden in his old menus. But beware! Gaston has a violent temper. If you get caught, your head might be next on the chopping block... When the door behind you is closed and the chef sharpens his knives, you only have 75 minutes to find out what is really going on in the restaurant and to escape alive!

AI Overview

AIVisitors praise the immersive location and the committed game masters who are in character from the first moment. Puzzles feel logical, varied, and often playable in parallel, with a smooth flow and clear progress signals. The tension is present but not extreme; for many, this is Rock City Escape's least scary room. Critiques focus mainly on a somewhat flat storyline, an abrupt finale, and one element that drags the quality down a notch.
WeaknessesThe story and the chef's sense of threat don't always land as strongly, and the ending can feel sudden. Some players found one effect or sequence less successful or a bit less fleshed out.
StrengthsStrong set design in and around the old monastery with an eye for detail and ambiance. Creative, thematic puzzles that feel fair and encourage good teamwork. Welcoming guidance, a tight intro, and tailored hints keep the pace up.
SecurityClear briefing, calm start, and a visibly alert team create a safe feeling. The threatening theme stays as experience; the staff keep control and pace without pushing.
Level of fearTense and atmospheric with a few jump scares, but not hardcore horror. Suited to teams that can handle a touch of spooky; scaredy-cats will cope with humor and good guidance.
Actors' gameThe game masters are often praised: strong in character, funny, and supportive without overpowering. Hints arrive right on time, and sometimes you get just that bit of extra leeway to wrap things up.
Quality of riddlesPuzzles are varied, thematically woven, and mostly logically solvable, with chances to work in parallel. Difficulty ranges from medium to tough but feels fair thanks to good feedback and subtle cues. A few unique effects elevate the experience, though not everyone finds them essential.
PlotYou infiltrate the restaurant Le Monastère to unravel chef Gaston's secrets and find out what happened to the missing nuns. The story supports the atmosphere well, though it's rarely perceived as deep or innovative.
Difficulty levelMedium-hard to challenging, especially with two people it can be tough. The 75 minutes and well-thought-out hint structure make it doable for mixed and experienced teams.
